The renovations will allow two cars to order at the same time, and will increase the drive thru capability from 100 customers an hour to 150.

Local Franchisee John McCollum said: "McDonald's is a modern and progressive company and we are really excited to have opened Northern Ireland's first dual drive thru restaurant.

As a local franchisee I'm keen to ensure steady investment in the area and I am pleased to be able to provide 50 new full and part time positions.

"Investing in the development of our staff is also important - it will help us to continue to deliver consistently high levels of customer service and we want to ensure our crew have a good learning ladder of opportunities ahead of them to benefit their career."

The investment means the interior and exterior of the restaurant will also be refurbished and brings the current employment to 140 full and part-time staff.

The new look restaurant will offer 160 seats inside, an extended outside seating area and free WiFi.

Hmm seems McDonalds are doing ok for themselves,Knowing myself how hard McDonalds employees have to work ,maybe they will consider diverting some of that profit to increasing staff salaries above minimum wage? Oh no wait, thats not how the world works right? The poorest people are the ones who have to work the hardest and the rich just sit back at a desk and get richer.
