The Met Office has issued a number of severe weather alerts across much of England and south-east Wales.

Sub-zero temperatures and a big snowfall caused havoc over the weekend.

At Heathrow Airport just over half the flights of the normal flight load of 1,300 managed to get through on Sunday.

Approximately 400 passengers on six trans-Atlantic flights from America were forced to land in Shannon after their flights were re-directed on their approach to London.
