Temperatures are forecast to fall below freezing and there is a risk of ice and frost on roads.
A Met Office Yellow Warning of ice for Northern Ireland is in place until midday on Sunday.
There is also the possibility of one to two centimetres of fresh snow at times in some areas.
"Salting of roads on the scheduled network is planned but motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling, particularly when driving on untreated roads," a Roads Service spokesperson said.
Police have said that conditions are treacherous on the Glenhugh Road in Ballymena.
"Motorists are advised to slow down and drive with care," a PSNI spokesperson said.
