A motorcyclist has died after a crash near Cushendun, Co Antrim.

The 49-year-old man was seriously injured when the motorbike he was travelling on collided with a Suzuki SX4 car on Loughareema Road on Saturday at around 10.35am.

The motorcyclist was taken to Antrim Area Hospital and died from his injuries.

The road was closed for a time at its junction with Knocknacarry Road/Tromra Road and Cushleake Road.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
