A 19-year-old man has died in hospital after a motorbike crash in Co Antrim.

The man was rushed to hospital after the collision on the Shelling Hill Road in Cullybackey at around 5.15pm on Wednesday.

It is understood that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

Police are investigating the circumstances and have appealed for witnesses to the collision or anyone travelling on the road around this time to contact them.

This is the first motorcyclist to die on Northern Ireland's roads in 2010.

Meanwhile, the Springtown Road in Londonderry was closed by police after an accident involving two vehicles.

The crash was reported shortly before 8.30pm on Wednesday.

Police said there were reports of a number of injuries.
