Jonny Buckley, 27, died as a result of the crash on the Braepark Road near Ballyclare.
Confirming his identity, police said: "The man who died in a traffic collision on the Braepark Road on Monday evening was Jonathan Buckley, who was from the Antrim area."
Jonny Buckley would have celebrated his 28th birthday in just two weeks time.
His funeral is now scheduled to take place this weekend, with the family expecting a "large number of vehicles" to travel the route of the cortege on Saturday afternoon.
Police continued: "The funeral of Mr Buckley is to take place on Saturday 19 October and is due to leave the Braepark Road area at around 1pm.
"The route will take the cortege to Ballynure and the main A8 to Belfast.
"The family expects a large number of vehicles at this time. Mr Buckley was a semi-professional motorcycle racer and a large turnout of motorcyclists is also expected."
Tributes have poured in on motorcycle forum Biker.ie, of which Jonny Buckley was a member, with a flood of posts honouring the Supersport and Superbikes racer.
The Facebook page of Mondello Park in Co Kildare was among those to also carry a tribute.
"Terrible news this morning as we learnt that hugely popular bike racer Jonny Buckley has passed away after a car accident last night," it read.
"Our thoughts are with his family, friends and indeed the entire biker community. May he rest in peace."
The road had remained closed for much of Tuesday morning as police examined the scene.
Police said they are continuing their investigations and have asked anyone who was in the area on at 9.15pm on the day of the accident - or who saw a white BMW M3 car in the Ballyclare area in the hours leading up to it - to get in touch with them.
