A woman pushing her child in a pram has been attacked by muggers in Belfast.

She was walking along Roden Street area at 3pm on Tuesday when two unknown males approached her from behind, pulled her to the ground and kicked her in the face.

The pair escaped with the woman's handbag.

Her purse was found a short time later in an alleyway at the rear of Roden Street.

She was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The child was not hurt during the incident.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them at Musgrave.

How low can these scumbags stoop? Can't even push a pram in broad daylight now without getting attacked! What is this country coming to? Scumbags - what I really want to call them is unprintable! Hope the lady is ok and recovers from this terrible ordeal.
