Minister Poots received the interim report from the independent review team on Friday.
Three babies at Belfast's Royal Jubilee maternity hospital and one baby at Altnagelvin died from the infection in December and January.
The review was set up in February to investigate the circumstances surrounding the outbreaks.
The minister has asked for the Health Committee to be recalled to update them on the review, which is due to be delivered in full by the end of May.
"I will now take time to consider its findings and recommendations. I have asked the Chair of the HSSPS Committee if she would reconvene the committee this Wednesday so that I can update members. I would like to thank her for agreeing to do this," he said.
