Two men have been treated for shock after they were tied and bound during an armed robbery in the Maghera area of Co Londonderry.

A number of men, one thought to be armed with a handgun and a knife, entered the Tobermore Road home at around 8.45pm on Wednesday.

They tied up the two men, aged 51 and 47, before taking cash from a safe and a number of personal items including laptop computers and watches.

They later made of in the occupants' car, a black Mercedes, which was later found on the Brough Road, in Castledawson.

The two residents received minor wrist injuries and were treated for shock at the scene.

Police have asked anyone who has any information, or who may have seen the car in the Maghera/Castledawson area to contact them.
