The attack happened in the Ballymagroarty area at around 8pm on Thursday.

The victims, aged 25 and 26, were shot in the legs.

Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney condemned the attack.

"There can be absolutely no justification for this type of action.

"Whatever organisation carried out this out needs to come forward and give a clear explanation for their actions," the Sinn Féin representative added.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
