UUP chairman David Campbell confirmed on Thursday that the action was being taken, over alleged indiscipline and breaches of party confidentiality by Mr McNarry.
The committee will also be asked to examine and report on similar allegations regarding other unnamed party members.
I have today referred the ‘McNarry Affair’ to the disciplinary committee of the Ulster Unionist Party for investigation.

"The disciplinary committee will report in due course to the party officers," Mr Campbell said. "There is to be no further comment on this issue from any party member."
Mr McNarry was dropped from his role as deputy chair of the Education Committee by UUP leader Tom Elliott, as punishment for "going too far" in a newspaper interview about talks with the DUP.
The MLA promptly quit the UUP Assembly Group and, lashing out in a UTV interview on Monday, warned that Mr Elliott was "digging a hole for himself".
