Police said a vehicle was damaged in the Westland Terrace area in the early hours of Saturday.

It is believed stones were thrown at it at 3.25am, breaking a window and denting the roof. Police have asked anyone who witnessed suspicious activity at around that time to contact them.

Sinn Féin politician Mr McGuinness said he will not be deterred by the incident.

He went on: "These type of attacks are pointless. I won't be deflected from carrying out my responsibilities and my work to build peace and reconciliation."
