A man's body has been found close to a hospital in south Belfast.

Police uncovered the body close to Knockbracken Health Care Park on the Saintfield Road shortly before 11.30am on Tuesday.

PSNI search teams, along with the community rescue service and the North West Mountain Rescue team were carrying out searches in the area for a missing man.

The body has yet to be formally identified, but police say they are not treating his death as suspicious.

Meanwhile, the body of a 44-year-old man was found in the Botanic Avenue area of the city on Monday night.

The discovery was made in a vacant house shortly after 8pm.

A police spokesperson said a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
