The attempted robbery happened on the Lisburn Road on Thursday at around 2.10am.

He fled empty-handed, in the direction of the King's Hall, after his demands were refused and no one was injured.

The man was described as being around 20-years-old with short hair. He was wearing a black track suit with three white stripes on the arm and hood.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area, to come forward.
