The attack happened in the Church Way area on Wednesday night.

Police said the petrol bomb smashed through the window shortly before 10.30pm.

The man was not hurt but extensive damage was caused to the front of the house.

Stewart Dickson, Alliance MLA for the area, urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police.

"This man had a very lucky escape. This petrol bomb attack had the potential to cause serious damage to the house and could have led to serious injury or worse," he said.

"There can be absolutely no justification for carrying out an attack like this on a person's home. We should be able to live in our own homes with the fear of this sort of incident."
