Dean Owen has severe spinal damage after a car crash 13 years ago and swam 20 miles on Saturday to raise money for a child with cerebral palsy.
Caleb Kerr, who is aged four, has spastic cerebral palsy. This means the muscles in his body are very tight and the Loughgall boy can't put his feet flat on the ground.
His family are trying to raise £70,000 for an operation to help him walk unaided and to buy care equipment.
Dean swam in open water from Massereene to Maghery to help raise the funds for Caleb's will2walk campaign.
"I can relate to his mobility issues and I just want to see the little boy walk," he told UTV.
