Man still held over Lurgan murder

The murder probe was launched on Sunday after a body was found in a house in Portlec Place in the early hours.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

Forensics officers were still at the scene of the death carrying out an examination on Monday.

Local DUP representative Stephen Moutray offered his commiserations to the family who he knows.

He said: "There was a murder which has taken place at sometime over the weekend here and a local man has had his life taken away.

"This is a very quiet, settled area and speaking to the local residents, they are very shocked at what has happened.

"It's not something you expect to wake up to over the weekend here.

"I know the extended family, they are local people, very good people.

"At this time our sympathies are with the family circle," he said.
