Man 'stable' after Belfast stabbing

A 31-year-old man is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in an attack in Belfast.

The attacked happened in the University Avenue area of south Belfast just before 2.20am on Thursday.

The man was stabbed several times in the leg at a property in the area, police said.

A 45-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is currently helping police with their enquiries.
