Man 'stable' after Belfast stabbing

Police have said a man is in a stable condition in hospital after a north Belfast stabbing.

The incident happened just before 10pm on Wednesday outside residential premises in the Silverstream Road area of the city.

The 21-year-old man was stabbed a number of times in the leg and also received facial injuries in the assault.

The man was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries, where his condition was described as "stable" by police.

Detectives investigating the attack have appealed for anyone with information to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or through the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
