A 22-year-old man has been stabbed by a masked male attacker in north Belfast.

The incident happened on Silverstream Road on Sunday at around 6am.

The victim, who had been walking along the road, received puncture wounds to his chest, legs and arms.

A police spokesperson said: "He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening."

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or who has any information in relation to it, to contact them.
