Emergency services were sent to the scene on the Drones Road near Armoy just before 6pm.

It's understood the injured man was a pedestrian and was hit by a passing vehicle.

The man, thought to be in his 80s, was taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, where his condition was described as "serious".

Police have closed the Drones Road between Kilraghts Road and Fivey Road.

Motorists have been advised to seek an alternative route.
