Man robs Holywood filling station

A man armed with a knife has robbed a filling station near Holywood, Co Down.

A man entered the premises on the Bangor Road area on Friday at around 7pm and demanded money from staff members.

A sum of cash was handed over and the man escaped on foot towards Holywood.

No one is believed to have been injured.

The man was described as being a white male, mid to late 30s, approx 6ft tall with stubble on his face.

He was wearing blue jeans, a dark coloured coat with a hood and a black hat and gloves.

He was also wearing a blue builder's type hard hat with an orange workman's type vest over his clothing.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw a man matching this description in the area to contact them.
