Fire crews helped the 25-year-old from a balcony on the fourth floor of the building on Clonard Street in the early hours of Monday morning.

He was taken to hospital where he was given treatment for smoke inhalation.

The fire, which broke out shortly before 3am, is understood to have started accidentally.
