Man remanded over churchyard killing

A man has been remanded in custody, charged in connection with the murder of Strabane man Andrew Burns in a County Donegal churchyard two years ago.
A man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the murder of Strabane man Andrew Burns in a Co Donegal churchyard two years ago.

Mr Burns was found shot dead in the grounds of the church in Doneyloop village, Castlefin, in February 2008.

Martin William Kelly, 35 and of Barrack Street in Strabane, was arrested by gardai in Letterkenny on Tuesday.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and was remanded in custody at Dublin's non-jury Special Criminal Court.
