The attack happened in the Boundary Way in the Shankill area at around 7.40pm on Saturday.

A number of men are reported to have entered a house in the area armed with hammers and knives.

A 27-year-old victim received a stab wound to his abdomen after an altercation in the street.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

"A motive for the attack has yet to be established and all lines of enquiry will be investigated," a PSNI spokesperson said.

Anyone who has information or anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact police.
