A man in his 50s was killed in the incident on the Tullychurry Road area of Belleek just before 3am on Sunday.

Police believe he was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene and appealed for information on a blue Ford Focus with damage to the front end of the vehicle.

A man, in his early 40s, was arrested by Garda in the Pettigo area of Donegal on Sunday at around 5pm - he was later released.

His car was seized and is being forensically examined.

A Gardaí spokesperson said a file is being prepared for the DPP.
