The man, who was detained on Wednesday, was questioned about an attempted hijacking on 30 December 2011 in west Belfast.
He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Ten males have so far been arrested by a special police taskforce set up to find those responsible for the carjackings across the city.
Four males, aged 15, 19, 22 and 24, have been charged with offences connected to the carjacking incidents.
Three have since been remanded in custody. One of the males arrested has also been charged with an unrelated incident of theft.
