It happened in the Colinbrook Avenue area of Dunmurry at around 3.20pm on Friday.

Three men approached the man and ordered him to give them the tools. They pulled out a knife when he refused, before punching him on the head.

He sustained injuries to the side of his face.

The men fled empty-handed.

Police said two of them are believed to be around 18 or 19 years old.

One of them wore a black coat and a navy hoodie underneath with the hood up and black tracksuit bottoms. The other wore light blue jeans and a black coat with the hood up.

The third man is thought to be about 25 years old, of medium build, with a thin moustache and wearing dark blue jeans and a grey hoodie.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been asked to come forward.

Fair play to the man for not giving into those scum, its a dangerous thing to do, especially when theres 3 against one and they have knives.
