Man pleads guilty to murder of Irish vet

A man has pleaded guilty to murdering Irish vet Catherine Gowing, who went missing in October in Wales.

Ms Gowing, originally from Clonlee, Co Offaly, was last seen on Friday 12 October at a supermarket near her home in New Brighton, Flintshire, North Wales.

She was reported missing after failing to arrive for work. Her car was found burnt out in a country lane two miles from her home.

Her body has never been fully recovered, although remains were found at two rural locations near her home in Flintshire, north Wales, and near Chester.

On Monday, Clive Sharp, 46, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to her murder at Mold Crown Court.
