Man on £380k cannabis charges

A man is due in court to face a string of charges connected to the discovery of £380,000 worth of cannabis resin in Magherafelt, Co Londonderry.

The 34-year-old was arrested after police seized 38 kilos of the drug during a planned raid in the Leckagh Drive area on Tuesday night.
A large sum of cash was also uncovered after a vehicle was searched.
Police said the man has been charged with nine counts including possession of Class B drugs, intent to supply, cultivating cannabis, being concerned in the supply of drugs, possession of criminal property, obstructing police and three charges of motoring offences.
He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Thursday.
