A 28-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a gas explosion in Maghera, Co Londonderry.

A police spokeswoman said that a gas cylinder exploded in the back garden of a house at Largantogher Park at around 3.20pm on Sunday.

The man is being treated for superficial burns.

There are no further details.
