Man in hospital after 'hammer attack'

Police are appealing for information after a man in his 50s was beaten with hammers in north Belfast.

The incident occurred on Monday evening, when up to five men are believed to have broken into a house in the Rosapenna Street area and ordered a man to come downstairs where he was then attacked.

The man was taken to for hospital treatment to injuries to his hands and feet.

Police enquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact them at Grosvenor Road.
