At around 9pm on Friday, three masked men, one carrying a suspected firearm, entered the home in the Ryanstown Road area.

The men forced the man to the floor and demanded money.

He was held on the ground by one of the intruders while the other two ransacked the property.

They then tied the man up and locked him in a bedroom before making off.

He was later treated for an injury to his shoulder in hospital and discharged on Saturday morning.

The gang stole the man's Mitsubishi Shogun car, which was later found abandoned on the Upper Burren Road.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
