A masked man armed with a knife robbed cash from the business premises on Wednesday at about 9.30am, before making off in a red Seat Ibiza car.

It had been stolen in a creeper burglary at a house in the Millbrook area of Larne earlier that morning.

A member of the public trying to stop the car theft received cuts to his hand.

The vehicle was found abandoned at about 2pm in the Knocksallagh Green area of Greenisland.

Police arrested the suspect later that evening in the Rathcoole area of Newtownabbey after carrying out a search.

He was arrested in relation to a number of offences, including other creeper burglaries in the Larne, Carnlough and Glenarm areas of Co Antrim.

He remains in police custody helping them with their enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who finds a discarded mask or knife to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
