Police were called by paramedics to a report of a 34-year-old man, who was having a fit in Orritor Street in the Co Tyrone town at around 4.35pm on Saturday.

It's understood the man, who was the driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra, had been involved in a row with the driver of a black Audi A4 in Coagh Street.

Both drivers then exited their vehicles in Orritor Street and the driver of the Audi is believed to have punched the victim, causing him to lose consciousness and subsequently fit.

The man who was detained on Tuesday has been released pending further police enquiries.

Punching someone in the face after a road rage incident should deserve a custodial offence as well as several points on your Driving License. Bullies on the road must be made accountable for their unacceptable behaviour.
