Man faces jail over £500 000 cannibis find
A man has been warned he faces an inevitable "period of incarceration" after he pleaded guilty to having half a million pounds worth of cannabis.

Following legal applications at Belfast Crown Court, Jonathan Wilson McQuillan, 27, pleaded guilty to possessing class C cannabis on December 2 last year with intent to supply it.

Mr McQuillan, from Mica Drive in west Belfast, also pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megan while disqualified and without insurance, at or about the car park at the Park Royal Apartments on the Lisburn Road.

Previous courts have heard that when the car was searched by officers, they uncovered numerous black bin liners in the boot filled with 100 kilo's of cannabis resin, estimated to have a street value of around £500,000.

Following the guilty pleas Judge Geoffrey Miller QC adjourned passing sentence until the new year when pre-sentence probation reports have been compiled and releasing McQuillan on bail, warned him he would be going to jail.
