The blaze, in the Clones Road area, was reported to the emergency services on Sunday at 6.45am.

Police and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service have spent the day at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Kevin O'Neill, Group Commander for the Fire Service, told UTV that on arrival the single storey dwelling was well alight and the roof had partially collapsed.

When the fire crews managed to get into the property, they found the man's body.

"Operations are still ongoing at this time," he added.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim, but it is understood that he lived alone.
