He has been named as Alan Kelso from the Antrim area.

The 37-year-old is believed to have died after his bike collided with a telegraph pole on the Dungonnell Road in Crumlin on Monday morning. No other vehicles were involved.

It brings the total number of people killed this year on Northern Ireland's roads to 18.

A statement from the PSNI said: "Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone who noticed the silver Honda motorcycle travelling on the Dungonnell Road, Crumlin this morning to contact them at Antrim or the Collision Investigation Unit on the new non emergency number 101."
