A fisherman has died after getting into difficulties off the coast of Donegal.

The alarm was raised just after 10am on Saturday when the wreckage of a boat was spotted in the water at Inishowen.

A spokesperson for the Irish Coast Guard at Malin Head said the man was brought to shore by a rescue crew and given CPR but he died at the scene.

There are no further details at this time.
