Man 'critical' after Coleraine attack

A 52-year-old man remains in a critical condition following an attack in Coleraine, Co Londonderry.

The assault in the New Market Street area on Sunday was reported shortly before 8pm.

Police said the victim is still in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital.

A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the incident and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police in Coleraine.
