The man was charged in connection with public disorder in the Denmark Street area of the city on Sunday 2 September.
He will appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday 1 November.
Missiles were hurled at police in the areas on 2 September after a loyalist crowd gathered to protest at a republican march.
