Man charged with city stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon, following a stabbing in Belfast.

The charge comes after a 66-year-old man was stabbed in the head and neck at business premises on the Upper Newtownards Road on Tuesday at 3.30pm.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries, which police have described as 'not life-threatening'.
A 49-year-old man is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
