Man charged over burglary attack

A 21-year-old man has been charged with an aggravated burglary which took place in west Belfast on Saturday morning.

Two men entered the property at Ladybrook Crescent shortly before 5.30am and threatened the female occupants.

One of the victims was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and a suspected broken arm.

The men made off with a TV and a Renault Clio belonging to one of the ladies which was later found burnt out in the Lenadoon area.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested by police.

The 20-year-old man was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old was subsequently charged with aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm with intent and will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.
