A 35-year-old man is facing terrorism charges following the discovery of a firearm in Lurgan.

The man was arrested along with two men aged 23 and 28 years in the Kiln Road area of the town on Thursday.

They were detained on suspicion of dissident republican activity when two cars were stopped by police and a gun was found.

The two men have been released pending reports to the Public Prosecution Service.

The 35-year-old man will appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He has been charged with possessing a firearm and articles likely to be of use to terrorists.
