Man charged over Belfast hijack

A man has been charged with hijacking a car in south Belfast.

The vehicle was taken outside a supermarket on the Ormeau Road on Thursday evening.

It was stopped by police at Verner Street a short time later.

A 32-year-old was charged with a number of offences including hijacking, no driving licence and resisting police.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.
