Jibing Li, 23, is accused of conspiracy to supply and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

The Chinese national is further charged with concealing and transferring criminal property, and having a fake passport.

He was arrested by detectives investigating the discovery of cannabis during a raid on a house on Hollycroft Avenue last month. Around £36k in cash was also seized by officers.

A 25-year-old woman detained with him was later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

As Li was brought before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday, a detective said he could connect him with the alleged offences.

The accused, whose address was given as Hollycroft Avenue, did not seek bail.

His solicitor told the court there was currently nowhere suitable for him to stay in this jurisdiction.

"Inquiries are at a very early stage in that regard," he added.

Li was remanded into custody to appear again by video-link in three weeks' time.

Two other people have previously been charged in connection with the haul.
