Man charged after Co Down burglary

A 38-year-old man has been charged after he was arrested at the scene of a burglary at a house in Lawrencetown, Co Down.

He was detained on Saturday afternoon and attempted to run away from police officers.

He is remanded in police custody to appear at Banbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He is charged with 11 offences, including two counts of burglary, three of thefts from vehicles, one count of assault on police and one count of escaping lawful custody.

Police have said the charges relate to his initial arrest and other offences committed in the Banbridge area over the last number of weeks.

Great news, we were burgled not too far from their in November along some other homes beside us. Hats off to the PSNI! hope the burgler gets jailed.
