Man beaten by gang in west Belfast

A 33-year-old man has been treated for concussion in hospital after he was badly beaten by a number of men in west Belfast.

The man was attacked between 8-9pm on Tuesday as he was walking along the Whiterock Road in the Ballymurphy area.
He received a blow to the head and was knocked to the ground. The unknown number of assailants punched and kicked him to the face and body.
The victim received treatment in hospital for a split lip, which required 21 stitches. He was also treated for concussion.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them.
