A man arrested in connection with an arson attack on a GAA club in Derry has been released on bail.

The fire caused extensive damage to Sean Dolan's club in the Creggan estate last December.

A 46-year-old was detained on Tuesday but later bailed pending further inquiries.

A statement from the PSNI said: "The 46-year-old man arrested earlier today on suspicion of arson at Sean Dolans GAA club in Londonderry on 28 December 2011 has been released on bail pending further enquiries."

At the time of the blaze, police said it had been started accidentally, but security footage was released showing people starting the blaze.

The next day, the PSNI said the club had been deliberately set alight.

Detectives in the city have asked anyone with information to pass it on.
