Man attacked by masked gang in Bangor

A 24-year-old man has been attacked by a masked gang of men with bats and sticks at his home in Bangor, Co Down.

The assault happened in the Clandeboye Way area shortly before 10.30pm on Monday.

A number of men wearing balaclavas forced their way into the home of the man through a side door before attacking him.

They then made off in the direction of Kilcooley.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries including a suspected fracture of his arm.

A motive for the attack has yet to be established.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police in Bangor.
